We are delighted to report that our Installations Manager, Simon Storey, together with 8 of his friends, have successfully completed the gruelling 650 mile cycle challenge he organised earlier this year.
Simon and a team of his friends cycled through 5 countries, visiting 5 capital cities in 5 days, from Edinburgh to Belfast to Dublin to Cardiff to London, a total of 650 miles!
They were riding in memory of 2 lost friends, Lawrence Sherriffs and Kate Vanloo. Lawrence tragically collapsed and died of an undiagnosed heart condition after playing a game of Rugby. It was later diagnosed as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Lawrence was just 41 years old. Kate was killed in a cycling accident in early January 2016. Kate was a friend of Simon’s and fellow committee member of the Rugby Triathlon Club, she also completed the JOGLE charity event Simon organised in 2014.
Simon organised the Big 5 Cycle Challenge to raise money for the heart muscle charity Cardiomyopathy UK, which supports those with the condition and those who have been affected by it.
